Stake Out Survey

Construction surveying or building surveying (otherwise known as "staking", "stake-out", "lay-out" or "setting-out") is to stake out reference points and markers that will guide the construction of new structures such as roads or buildings.

Stakeout Survey is a survey done in order to establish location of structures, objects and/or property corners based on proposed plans. Property corners are being staked out to define the limits of a construction site. Building foundation is usually staked out by means of access lines created with certain offsets around proposed structure. Structural building elements (i.e. columns) are staked out by establishing axis lines. All staked out lines are documented on the field sketch and later transferred into AutoCad drawing.
